Air India opens bookings for India-U.K flights

Indian national carrier Air India has opened bookings for the India-U.K flights which would resume from January 6, which was stalled due to the heavy spread of new infectious strain of SARS-Cov-2 in recent times.

Air India also confirmed that the new flights are in addition to the regular flights and tickets could be booked online through its website.

All these additional flights will be operated between London Heathrow and Mumbai, Delhi on 06-08 Jan 2021.

Air India in another statement said that the passengers who booked their flight on December 23 will be accommodated in the first flight out.

โ€œThese flights are in addition to the regular flights. Booking open through Air India Website, Booking Offices, Call Centre and Authorized Travel Agents,โ€ the carrier tweeted.

According to the new detailed guidelines and SOPs issued by the Ministry of Health, all the passengers arriving from the United Kingdom should be carrying a Negative RT-PCR Test Report for which the test should have been conducted within 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey.

The negative test report also need to be uploaded on the online portal (www.newdelhiairport.in)
Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said that flights from India to the UK would resume from January 6. However, the operations from the UK to India would start only on January 8, he said.
