Come out on balconies, gates, light lamps, candles, torches at 9 pm this Sunday, show our collective strength in fighting Covid-19, PM urges people

In a video message today, Prime  Minister Narendra Modi asked  people to come out on their balconies and gates with lamps, torches, candles or even use mobile phone’s flashlights for 9 minutes at 9 pm on April 5 to  show our collective strength against Covid-19. He has also  asked  people to remain indoors and not form groups during the lockdown.

From the  PM’s video message:

Social distancing should not be breached under any circumstances. This is the only panacea to break the chain of coronavirus.

Never cross the line of social distancing.

Let’s defeat corona together and make India win.

We have to move towards light from the darkness created by coronavirus.

We are at home during lockdown, but we are not alone as collective strength of entire country is with each one of us.

I want 9 minutes of yours on 5 April at 9 pm. Switch off all lights, stand at balcony or gate with a candle, torch or mobile phone’s flash light.

This Sunday, April 5, we need to challenge the darkness of coronavirus.

He has also  said there was unprecedented discipline and sense of service by people during the lockdown.

The PM thanked people for respecting the corona lockdown.
