Fight against coronavirus is no less than war: Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said during the current time of coronavirus pandemic wherein humanity under crisis, it is the devotion to the country that determines and illuminates our path of life. He also said that India’s efforts to combat coronavirus have set an example and even WHO endorses these efforts.  Addressing BJP workers to mark the 40th foundation day of the party, he also appreciated the maturity shown by people during the lockdown, describing it as unprecedented.

“We got to see our collective strength on Sunday evening,” he said mentioning to the countrywide exercise to switch off lights and illuminate diyas for nine minutes to show collective strength to fight the deadly virus.

He also urged BJP workers to follow a five-point agenda, including working to ensure that no poor goes hungry. Fight against coronavirus is no less than war, Modi said, asking BJP workers to follow the guidelines issues by party president J P Nadda and donate and encourage others to contribute to the PM-CARES fund.

Meanwhile, following the prime minister’s call , millions of people on Sunday night lit candles, lamps and flashed torches to ward off ‘darkness of Coronavirus’. Celebrities including Rajnikanth,Mohanlal, Kangana  Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli ,Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, etc. also lit the lamp showing solidarity with Prime Minister’s call to fight Covid-19.
