Financial Times’ readers select Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja as one of the most influential women of the year 2020

Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja is among the Financial Times’ readers’ list of most influential women of 2020.

US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris,New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern,Chief Medical Officer of BioNTech Ozlem Tureci, Musician Taylor Swift,US Politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen,US Politician Stacey Abrams, Belarus Politician Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya were the other winners in the Financial Times’ annual list which was prepared following scrutiny of hundreds of profiles belonging to ‘admirable women who have ‘broken ground, coped with crises or brought attention to some of the most important issues.

As featured by The Guardian, KK Shailaja is Kerala’s “coronavirus slayer” and “rock-star health minister” and she was selected by the Financial Times for her contributions to remarkable health outcomes in the fight against the pandemic.

Earlier in September, British magazine ‘Prospect’ had selected the K K Shailaja as the world’s top thinker for the Covid-19 age. In June, KK Shailaja was honored by the United Nations for her effective management of the pandemic and was selected as one of the panelist concerning U.N’s Public Service day.

Earlier this month, the Indian edition of Vogue paid tribute to K K Shailaja.
