Freelance work surged across the UAE in 2024, growing at an annual rate of 10%, as companies embraced more agile, project-based models of employment.
The rise is far from incidental. Recruitment professionals attribute the trend to multiple drivers — an ongoing global talent shortage expected to leave 85.2 million jobs unfilled by 2030, the introduction of the UAE’s five-year Green Visa in 2022, and the country’s fast-paced digital transformation and growing appetite for remote work.
