India extends restrictions on U.K flights

India has decided to continue restrictions on UK flights till 15th April 2021 due to the alarming spread of the new strain of SARS-Cov-2 in the U.K.

India has suspended the normal operations since early December due to the spread of the new strain, on January 27 it further suspended the operations and on Sunday it decided to extend the restriction till April 2021.

According to the sources, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) in a letter to United Kingdom’s (UK) Airlines said that the restrictions on flights between India and the UK have been extended till April 15 (23.59 hours).

As per the restrictions notified by the government, the operations has been limited to 30 flights -15 each by both countries to & from the UK till April 15.

Currently, flights to and from the UK are operating out of only Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Indian airlines — Air India and Vistara operate 15 flights a week and British carriers — British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will also be allowed the same number.
