Indian Community in Dubai Marks Countdown to International Day of Yoga at Dubai Frame

As the world prepares to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2026, members of the Indian People’s Forum’s Dubai chapter gathered at the iconic Dubai Frame for a special yoga session that blended wellness, unity, and cultural connection.
Set against one of Dubai’s most recognised landmarks, participants performed a series of yoga asanas while highlighting the growing importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental resilience, and inner balance. The event formed part of the global countdown to International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21.
This year marks the twelfth edition of the worldwide celebration, with the official theme announced as “Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom, and World Peace.” Organisers and participants said the gathering aimed to spread awareness about the holistic benefits of yoga while encouraging community participation ahead of the international observance.
The event also reflected the increasing enthusiasm for yoga among the Indian community in the UAE, where wellness-focused activities continue to gain popularity across all age groups.
Participants noted that choosing the Dubai Frame as the venue carried symbolic meaning. The landmark, which visually connects old and new Dubai, was seen as an ideal setting to represent the meeting of India’s ancient wellness traditions with the UAE’s modern and progressive outlook.
With yoga continuing to inspire millions worldwide, the session at Dubai Frame served as a reminder of the practice’s enduring message of harmony, mindfulness, and collective wellbeing.
