Indian Railways cancels work contract for Rs 470 cr with China, retains the status of China as non marketing economy

The Indian Railways’ Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has cancelled Rs.470 cr contract with China. The signalling contract which was given by Indian Railway to Beijing National Railway Research & Design Institute of Signal & Communication in the year 2016 was terminated due to the lack of progress in the work, said the officials.

Even though the officials are pointing out the lack of progress in the works as the reason for the cancellation, reports say that the decision has come in the wake of violent facing off the Indian Chinese armies at the Ladakh border which cost the lives of 20 Indian army men.

There are also reports that China is playing a shadow game as it is reported that the real reason behind the aggression of neighboring countries towards India is because of the Chinese influence. Earlier, both houses of Nepal’s parliament had approved new map including Kalapani region ,which is part of India,as part of Nepalese territory.

To counter those moves from the side of Beijing India is enacting some economic measures, reports said.

Earlier today rejecting the plea of Chinese government, India had decided to retain the status of non marketing economy of China by which India will be allowed to impose exorbitant anti-dumping duties on imports from China.
