No chartered flights from UAE to India, Indian Consulate in  Dubai warns  people  not to fall prey to fraudsters

The Government  of India has not given approval to operate any chartered flights to India from the UAE, said Consular General of India in Dubai in a press statement. He warned Indian nationals waiting for travelling to India not to fall prey to fraudsters who were reportedly collecting money in advance for seats on chartered flights.

“It has come to our notice that certain people and travel agencies in UAE are contacting Indian nationals in the name of forthcoming chartered flights to various destinations in India and in some cases, alluring them to pay money in advance for airfare and quarantine charges in India,” the Indian Consulate said in the press statement, the Khaleej Times reported.

According to the report, the press note said, “Consulate General of India in Dubai would like to advise all the Indian nationals living in UAE that the government of India has yet not accorded approval for any such chartered flights as of now.”

“A proposal of chartered flight to India, if any, for any designated purpose, will be approved by the Govt of India and routed through Consulate General of India, Dubai during the current crisis of Covid-19 and till resumption of normal international civil aviation services between India and UAE,” the statement said.

All Indian nationals are advised to take note of the above and advised not to fall prey to any such people or agents on pretext of arranging chartered flights to certain destinations, it said.
