The Union Health Ministry of India has launched a new facility to link passport and Covid-19 vaccination certificates through CoWin Portel. The Ministry’s move is predominantly to help international travelers.

In its recent tweet Aarogy Setu app which was developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to COVID–19 contact tracing, syndromic mapping and self-assessment shared the details of the process.

Here’s how to link your passport to your vaccination certificate:

1) Open the official portal of CoWin —
www.cowin.gov.in.2) Log in with your credentials.3) Select the ‘Raise an issue’ option.4) Click on the ‘Passport’ option and select the person, whose certificate you want to link, from the drop-down menu.5) Enter passport number.
6) Submit the details.

The user will receive the new updated certificate ‘in seconds’, once the process is complete.

If your personal details on the certificate and the passport don’t match, you can request for correction as well on the website.

Here’s how to edit personal details:

1) Go to the official portal of CoWin — www.cowin.gov.in.2) Select the ‘Raise an issue’ option.3) Click on the ‘Correction in certificate’ option and select the person, whose details the user want to change, from the drop-down menu.4) Click on the options you need to make corrections and edit the details.

5) Click on submit.

It is to be noted that entering a passport number and requesting a name change can only be done once.
