Prime Minister not to participate in Holi Milan programmes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided not to take part in Holi Milan events this year in the wake of the deadly coronavirus threat, he tweeted. The decision was taken citing experts’ advice to keep away from mass gatherings. Holi is due next week.
The highly contagious virus , is primarily transmitted through close contact with infected persons. Infected people spread the disease even when they themselves don’t have symptoms (fever, cough, breathing difficulties), or have a very mild form of the disease, or develop symptoms late in disease progression.
“Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme,” the PM tweeted.
