Simone Biles wins bronze after returning from decision not to take part

It has become a momentous day in the history of Olympic games. U.S star gymnast Simone Biles who withdrew from team and all-around finals indicating the ill mental health, has returned with a bronze medal triumph in the balance beam item.

Chinese gymnasts Guan Chenchen and Tang Xijing have swept the gold and silver in balance beam.

It was during the women’s team and all-around finals on Thursday that Biles pulled out from the competition due to what she called as the phenomenon called “the twisties.” Later it revealed that it is a fear of losing in air while trying gymnastics.

After the withdrawal, many from sports fraternity around the globe had consoled Biles. Many hailed the decision as they also had experienced same frightening sensation during competitions and were not in a position to reveal it.

Simone Biles said the outpouring of support she received after her withdrawal from the team and all-around finals meant a lot to her. It “has made me realize I’m more than my accomplishments and gymnastics which I never truly believed before,” she said last week.

With a combined total of 32 Olympic and World Championship medals, Biles is considered one of the greatest and most dominant gymnasts of all time.
