Struggling to lose weight? Doctor swears by this 2-ingredient breakfast

Breakfast is often hailed as the “king of meals” as it is vital for working people to remain energetic throughout the day. However, some people, especially those who are weight-conscious, seem to be a little hesitant about eating plenty of food in the morning. So, what is an ideal breakfast for a working professional?
Delhi-based gastroenterologist Dr. Shubham Vatsya took to Instagram to suggest that people struggling with weight loss or hunger pangs should begin their day with curd mixed with chia or basil seeds. He explained that this simple combination is rich in fibre and probiotics, making it both effective and sustainable.
Curd provides probiotics that strengthen gut health, improve digestion, and boost immunity, while chia or basil seeds add fibre, protein, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Together, they promote satiety, reduce cravings, and help control calorie intake. According to Dr. Vatsya, this breakfast keeps you full for up to four hours, helping you avoid heavy carb-based options such as parathas.
Why it works
Curd: Enhances gut health, prevents constipation and bloating, and supports immunity.
Chia/Basil seeds: Deliver fibre for fullness, protein for energy, and Omega-3s for overall wellness.
Combined effect: Sustained satiety, reduced hunger spikes, and better calorie management throughout the day.
Other healthy breakfast options
Greek yoghurt with nuts and fruits: Provides protein and healthy fats for lasting energy.
Chia pudding: Prepared with milk, fruits, and nuts; rich in fibre and Omega-3s.
Vegetable omelette: Eggs provide protein, while vegetables add fibre and micronutrients.
Dr. Vatsya said on Instagram that having curd with chia or basil seeds can keep you full for at least four hours and recommended trying it consistently for two weeks to notice visible results in appetite control and fat loss.
